Dave Asprey’s Bulletproof (biohacking) Conference 2015
Eversince I had heard that the Bulletproof biohacking conference existed, I was pre-packed & all ready to go! I bugged the staff at Bulletproof Exec relentlessly for about 6 months wanting to know the date of the conference…and I have to say, they were pretty patient with me! (thanks Justin!) ha ha…
I also arranged to meet up with a few people while I was going to be in LA – my friend Max Lugavere, who’s currently in the process of filming & directing Breadhead the documentary (there’s an interview with him coming up very soon) and Dr Andrew Hill, lead scientist at truBrain (ditto, interview soon!). So overall all, I was pretty excited for this trip – my first one as a self-appointed, official female biohacker! ha ha
The conference was everything that I had hoped for! There were a lot of amazing speakers like Dr Robert Cooper, a neuroscientist who gave an amazing talk on how to get the best out of yourself, your goals & your life. My most favourite talk was by Daniel Vitalis – it was really intersting & he is so full of passion & energy about his topic that you can feel it and it really draws you in…he’s also just really funny! Bill Harris gave a really informative talk on super awareness – relating to his latest book. Wim ‘the iceman’ Hof popped in for a guest appearance and then I bumped into people like Jim Kwik, who’s course I have done & is amazing! Actually, I just happened to find Jim sitting in the infra red sauna & stalked him till he came out to take a selfie! ha ha
I attended the Bulletproof VIP dinner on Saturday night where Dave joined us. There was also a bunch of other interesting people, including Bill Harris…which was great, because it really gave everyone a chance to have some one-on-one time with people like Dave & Bill. I had the opportunity to speak to Bill in depth, which was fascinating – they are both such knowledgeable people. Of course, getting to hang with other like-minded people was cool too! I remember chatting with Evan Brand at the conference whilst we were taking a break outside & it felt so good just being able to speak easily & freely about hacking things like say, choline dominance (which I have) and guess what? He knew what I was talking about! ha ha….ahhh…:)
While I was in LA, I also had the opportunity to visit Cryohealth & have a cryo therapy session…which, let me tell you, was weird…like really weird, but at the same time, really good. I went there that day with a headache & by the time I was finished, the headache was gone & I felt fantastic & had a lot of energy for the rest of the day! Amazing! There’s currently no cryo chambers in Sydney – although there is once scheduled for May (woo hoo) – in the meantime, I have started doing early morning swims at the beach – yes, in the cold water…and I’m really addicted to it. Same deal, I go there with a headache & afterwards it’s gone & I feel so refreshed & amazing. Now, you’re talking to a girl who hates the cold, but I’m telling you, there’s something to this cold business! Plus, I have noticed my waist is just a little bit trimmer after a few weeks of doing it. Don’t worry, I’ll do a whole post about it soon so I can tell you all about it & you can see my progress.
I also had a neurofeedback session with Dr Hill, which again, I’ll tell you about in more depth in an up-coming post.
Anyway, I decided to make a little video for you with the highlights so you can see all the cool people I got to hang with & listen to and you get to have a sneak peek at the tech hall with all the cool gadgets.
If you have an opportunity to go, then I highly recommend it! I plan on going again this year, so maybe I’ll see you there? Until then…
